AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – The Amarillo Police Department released information on a Monday night “brief pursuit” and standoff that resulted in the arrest of one man in the 1900 block of South Highland.
According to the department, officers responded Monday night to the 1900 block of South Highland after a report of a dog bite. The dog’s owner, identified as 45-year-old Marc King, allegedly entered his RV with the dog and drove away.

King allegedly refused to stop when officers tried to initiate a traffic stop near SE 27th and Manhattan, which officers said led to “a brief pursuit” that ended when King returned to the 1900 block of South Highland.
Police said King allegedly refused officers’ commands and remained inside the RV “despite being told he was under arrest.” After “the use of pepperballs and more than an hour of negotiation,” police said King exited the RV as SWAT officers arrived at the scene…
