Region 16 hosts critical training for educators to tackle classroom threats and violence

AMARILLO (KVII) — How to combat potential threats and violence in the classroom is the focus of a mandatory 7-hour training course at Region 16 in Amarillo for select educators.

Members of threat assessment teams from campuses across the Texas Panhandle were at Region 16 on Thursday, undergoing advanced training.”

“We’re learning more about how to conduct behavior threat assessments,” said Chris Young, assistant principal at Heritage Hills Academy. “We’re learning the things to look for, and everybody can get a little piece of information and making sure all that information gets funneled into some sort of system, to where you can identify where the threats are coming from or what the students are going through.”…
