Fiesta Foods offers hope with food vouchers amid SNAP shutdown

AMARILLO (KVII) — During the ongoing shutdown that has halted SNAP funding, Fiesta Foods is stepping up to support families in need by distributing food vouchers to local schools in Amarillo and Pampa.

Jarrett Copheranham, owner of Fiesta Foods, said, “We see people feeling stretched. We’re showing a little bit stretched ourselves.”

Currently, 3.5 million Texans receive SNAP benefits, but their accounts remain empty as they await the November disbursement. To help bridge the gap, Fiesta Foods is providing food vouchers to Sanborn Elementary School, Maverick Boys and Girls Club, and several nonprofits in Pampa…
