Discovery Center Collective releases list of Amarillo ISD schools with free DCC memberships

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Don Harrington Discovery Center and Wildcat Bluff have announced their list of 2025-2026 Amarillo ISD Elementary Schools whose students are eligible to redeem free Discovery Center Collective Family Memberships.

According to DHDC, the memberships, called Family Discovery Memberships, are valid through August of the following school year in 2026; giving families plenty of time to enjoy the perks of membership during DHDC’s 50th year, and Wildcat Bluff’s beauty during the warmer months.

Eligible Amarillo ISD Title I elementary schools with 80% or more on free/reduced price lunch plans are:

  • Eastridge
  • Emerson
  • Forest Hill
  • Glenwood
  • Hamlet
  • Humphrey’s Highland
  • Lamar
  • Landergin
  • Lawndale
  • Mesa Verde
  • Oak Dale
  • Rogers
  • Sanborn
  • San Jacinto
  • South Lawn
  • Whittier
  • Wills

Family Discovery Memberships include all the benefits of a Discovery Center Collective Family Membership, such as:

  • Unlimited admission for up to 6 household members to the Don Harrington Discovery Center and Wildcat Bluff Nature Center
  • Monthly digital calendars to stay in the loop on community events
  • Free admission to an additional 350 museums across the US included in ASTC’s Passport Program
  • Free or discounted admission to over 120 nature centers through the ANCA reciprocal program
  • 20% off additional guest admission fees
  • Discounts on special events, adults-only events, camps, birthday parties, and gift shop purchases

To redeem a Family Discovery Membership, caregivers of elementary school students at eligible schools should visit DHDC’s front desk during operating hours, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Once confirming their child’s enrollment at the list of the eligible schools, DHDC will send a digital membership card that will be valid until the next school year. Only one membership per family is allotted.
