AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Feeding Texas reported Monday that the Texas Health and Human Services Commission has started issuing partial SNAP benefits to recipients across the state. Food Banks across Texas are continuing to respond to increased need in the state.
According to officials, HHSC has stated that “SNAP clients who usually get their benefits between the 1st and 10th of the month will see partial benefits on their Lone Star Cards Nov. 10. For SNAP clients who receive benefits on or after the 11th of the month, partial benefits will be issued on their normal issuance date.”

Feeding Texas officials state that some SNAP recipients will receive 65% of their usual allotment, while many will receive significantly less—and some will receive nothing at all.
“We are happy to see SNAP participants get some relief, however, partial payments are not a solution,” said Celia Cole, CEO of Feeding Texas, the state association of food banks. “Many families will continue to need help putting food on the table when the partial benefits run out, or don’t come at all.”…
