AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — On Monday, Amarillo College announced it will honor the service of veterans and military-affiliated students, faculty, and staff during its annual Veterans Day Ceremony.
According to AC officials, the event is set for 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the AC Clock Tower, where Dr. Jamelle Commer, president of Amarillo College, will welcome attendees and acknowledge the contributions of those who served in the armed forces. The ceremony will feature a patriotic medley performed by the AC Ensemble, followed by presentations from distinguished speakers:
- Jeremy Gutierrez, veteran, community member and ordained minister
- Joseph Johnson, U.S. Marine Corps veteran and AC Psychology major
- Foster Johnson, U.S. Air Force veteran and AC Mass Communication major
The program will also include a special acknowledgement of the branches of the armed forces represented by the AC community, led by student veteran Joseph Johnson. The ceremony will conclude with a blessing, and light refreshments will be served afterward.
