AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Borger was selected, alongside Killeen, for the Texas Main Street Revitalization Program by the Texas Historical Commission, which will focus on preserving local character while catalyzing economic growth.
According to officials with the THC, the announcement came during the quarterly commission meeting in College Station on Nov. 7. Officials added that both cities will join 80 Texas communities committed to “breathing new life” into their historic downtown on Jan. 1, 2026.
