AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Dozens of women in the Amarillo community walked away with free professional and holiday outfits Saturday as Sharing Hope Ministry hosted its first Women’s Dress Clothing Extravaganza.
The event offered women the chance to choose two to three dress outfits, along with shoes and jewelry, all at no cost. Organizers said the clothing was donated during the ministry’s recent “Styled for Success” job-readiness conference, where an overflow of items made Saturday’s event possible.

“We’re letting women come in and shop, and I’ll use that term because they’re not really shopping. It’s all free of charge,” said Resource Coordinator Kim Lester. “If they can use it for work, they can use it for church, they can use it for the holidays, whatever they may need.”
Lester said the giveaway comes at an important time of year, when many women feel pressure to focus their time and money on their children and households, leaving little for themselves.
