Amarillo-Based AQHA Names Dave Dellin as New CEO, Transition Begins January 2026

The American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA), based in Amarillo, Texas, has named David “Dave” Dellin as its next Chief Executive Officer. The announcement was made on November 14, 2025. Dellin will begin his new role on January 5, 2026. This change follows a national search for a new leader for the organization.

The AQHA Executive Committee, led by President Jeff Tebow of Piedmont, Oklahoma, managed the selection process. They worked with an executive recruiting firm that specializes in equine associations. The committee reviewed four candidates before selecting Dellin.

Dellin has more than 20 years of experience in the equine industry. He spent 13 years in executive positions at the American Paint Horse Association. His experience includes membership service, organizational leadership, and strategic planning.
