RANDALL COUNTY, Texas (KVII) — A man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for murder after admitting to shooting another man following a car wreck.
The Randall County District Attorney’s Office reported that on Nov. 10, a murder trial began against Charles Duane Parsons in the 251st District Court of Randall County. Parsons waived his right to a jury trial, opting instead for a bench trial where the judge determines both guilt and punishment.
The incident dates back to 2021 when Parsons and the victim, Allen Ward, were visiting Amarillo. Parsons allowed Ward to drive his vehicle, but became frustrated with Ward’s speeding and reckless driving on rural Randall County roads…
