Potter County man accepts plea for drug distribution charge

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — A Potter County man has pleaded guilty on one count of “Distribution and Possession with Intent to Distribute Five Grams or more of Methamphetamine.”

According to previous reporting by MyHighPlains.com, Montes was originally indicted on multiple charges, including two counts of “Distribution and Possession with Intent to Distribute Five Grams or more of Methamphetamine,” one count of “Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine,” and one count of “Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine.”

However, Montes is only pleading guilty to one count of “Distribution and Possession with Intent to Distribute Five Grams or more of Methamphetamine.” Montes is facing up to 40 years in prison with a minimum of five years, a possible fine of up to $5,000,000, and supervised release for no less than four years and up to life.
