Tascosa High School brings ‘Beetlejuice Jr.’ to life

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Tascosa High School’s theater department is continuing its run of Beetlejuice Jr. this week, drawing one of the program’s largest casts and introducing many students to the stage.

The production features more than 50 students working both onstage and behind the scenes. Theater director Jacqueline Collom said the musical has helped grow the program by encouraging many first-time students to join.

“We’ve had a lot of newbies, people that they’ve gone here for a couple of years and they’ve never done theater,” Collom said. “Then, when we did Beetlejuice, they decided they wanted to be part of it, so we have a lot of newcomers and have kind of grown the program, so it’s been a lot of fun.”
