AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – As you begin to check everyone off your Christmas list, you may start to think a pet may be the perfect gift for someone. According to Amarillo Animal Management and Welfare, while pets can be a great addition to any home, they advise against giving them as gifts.
“So we don’t advise people to give animals as presents because we actually don’t, we don’t allow somebody who isn’t the owner or the adopter wanting the pet to actually adopt the animal because we want to make sure that that person who’s getting the animal actually wants the animal and it’s a fit for their home,” explained Amarillo Animal Management and Welfare assistant director Brandi Bullock.
