Stinnett woman dead after roll over crash

CARSON COUNTY, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — A woman from Stinnett has died following a rollover crash in Carson County, eight miles south of Borger.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, at approximately 2:24 p.m. on Thursday on SH 207, a 2020 Ford F-150 driven by an 18-year-old man was traveling southbound in a curve and veered over into the northbound lane. DPS stated that a 42-year-old man from Stinnett was driving a 2005 Ford Expedition in the northbound lane of SH 207 in the same curve and swerved to avoid a collision with the Ford F-150.

Officials noted that the Ford Expedition overcorrected the steering, causing the vehicle to roll over. DPS noted the passenger, 42-year-old Kristen Chisum-Floyd, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. The 4 other passengers in the Ford Expedition, a 19-year-old, a 13-year-old, a 12-year-old, an 8-year-old, and the driver, were transported to a hospital in Amarillo with non-life-threatening injuries.
