Good Saturday morning,
We are waking up to a clear sky with light southwest winds and lows around 39. As the day unfolds however, we are living on borrowed time as windy and much colder weather is instore this afternoon. Even though it will be sunny, brisk north winds of 15 to 35 mph will usher in modified Arctic air with temperatures falling throughout the day. Amarillo will top out near 50 by late this morning, followed by the much colder upper 30’s by early evening. Temperatures will continue to freefall overnight with tomorrow morning lows in the teens and low 20’s. Tomorrow afternoon will see just slightly milder weather with highs in the 30’s, followed by the 30’s and low 40’s on Monday afternoon. Tuesday should top out in the mid 50’s.
Regarding precipitation, as of this writing, a slight chance of flurries or light snow could be possible Monday morning across our far north and northeast counties. Amarillo looks to miss out on snowfall for Monday…
