Amarillo educator earns national honor for championing kids’ heart health

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – American Heart Association is honoring Melissa Smith, an Amarillo educator, for championing kids’ heart health.

Smith is a Region 16 school health specialist who’s been recognized as one of only nine leaders nationwide for transforming student health through the Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge programs.
