1 dead, 4 hospitalized after Thursday head-on crash on SE 10th

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – The Amarillo Police Department released information on a Thursday night head-on crash in the 3800 block of SE 10th that killed one person and injured four others.

Officials said officers responded to the 3800 block of SE 10th at around 11:08 p.m. after a report of a crash involving a Ford F-150 pickup, driven by one person, and a Chevrolet Lumina holding four people.

Officers said the Ford had been driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of SE 10th and the Chevrolet was westbound, when the two crashed head-on.

All four people in the Chevrolet were taken to an area hospital with “life-threatening” injuries, according to police. One person, who was still unidentified as of Friday morning, died at the hospital from their injuries, and an autopsy has been ordered…
