AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — Amarillo Angels raised $65,000 during the Panhandle Gives campaign, funding the nonprofit’s mission to provide mentorship, support, relationship-building and resources for foster children and foster families in the community.
An Amarillo Angels employee is also a foster parent who later adopted her child. She said she has seen firsthand the impact that consistent support can make.
“He used to be so embarrassed about it, and now he’s found this pride. Yeah, that happened to me, but I’m not going to let that ruin my life. I’m going to thrive through it, and I’m going to show other kids that life can be hard, but it’s going to be okay. It’s really awesome. I definitely recommend if you have the means to adopt, do it.
