56-year-old Mardee Matlack of Canyon was killed Friday night in a two-vehicle accident at South Soncy Road and West Cemetery Road. Preliminary investigation revealed that around 10:33pm a 1995 Cadillac Deville driven by 18-year-old Karlee Barfoot of Amarillo was traveling westbound on Cemetery Road while a 2010 Chrysler Town & County driving by Ms. Matlack was traveling southbound on Soncy Road. According to the DPS report, Barfoot disregarded the stop sign at the intersection with Soncy Road and struck Ms. Matlack’s Chrysler, she was pronounced deceased at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.
