After a two-month delay due to the government shutdown, the Texas Workforce Commission has released employment statistics for the month of September.
The commission’s Midland metropolitan statistical area — which includes Midland and Martin counties — had an unemployment rate of 3.3%, down from 3.5% in August but above the 2.9% reported last September. Midland and Amarillo were tied for the lowest unemployment rate statewide at 3.3% each.
