AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Texas Workforce Commission reported that the civilian labor force of the state reached a total of 14,343,800 nonfarm jobs after adding 4,600 positions in September.
According to the TWC, data shows the state added 168,000 jobs over the year, outpacing the national nonfarm growth rate by 0.4% with a rate of 1.2%. TWC data states that the civilian labor force registered at 15,879,000, after adding 21,700 people over September.
TWC noted the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Texas is 4.4%. This rate is as of September, and the rate in August of this year was 4.7%, lowering by .3% since last month and rising .3% since last year.
