PLAINVIEW, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – Wayland Baptist University announced 59 students will participate in commencement ceremonies at 2 p.m. on Saturday, including 14 from Amarillo and the surrounding area.
The ceremonies will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hutcherson Center at Wayland Baptist University’s Plainview campus.

University officials said candidates for graduation include four students set to receive doctoral degrees, 14 students receiving master’s degrees, 40 students receiving bachelor’s degrees and one student receiving an associate’s degree. A total of 42 graduation candidates are from Texas, as well as nine students from six other stands and eight international students from six countries.
Dr. Cindy McClenagan, Vice President for Academic Affairs, will present the candidates for degrees to Dr. Donna Hedgepath, President, who will confer degrees. Officials noted McClenagan will be assisted by Carole Harbison, secretary of Wayland’s Board of Trustees.
