AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Amarillo philanthropist Margaret Hodge and the Downtown Athletic Club have provided the lead gift of $100,000 to the Texas Panhandle First Responders Memorial that is being built at 11th and Polk in downtown Amarillo.
According to officials with the memorial, the donation is in honor of Margaret’s late husband, Jerry Hodge.
“Our area first responders leave their families every day to put their lives on the line for our community,” says Margaret. “I feel a deep commitment to ensure their heroic service and legacy are forever recognized and remembered.”
