Non-profits giving every child a special Christmas

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — This year has been hard for many in the community. Even with a hard year, families will still be able to have a special Christmas thanks to the work of the community and non-profits.

The Salvation Army of Amarillo has been hard at work for a month with their Angel Tree campaign which allows the community to adopt an angel so they have presents on Christmas morning.

“This project begins in September, and it takes a lot of hands on deck. Also, that’s from a practical standpoint, but you know the outpouring of support from the community,” added Lewis Britt volunteer for Angel Tree. “The love that the recipients have and the need, it kind of propels you forward to try to serve.”
