AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Texas Department of Transportation’s Amarillo District released its “Know Before You Go” report on lane closures for this week.
According to TxDOT, road closures and detours expected throughout this week include:
Sunday, Dec. 21
- The right lane of southbound I-27 from Sundown Lane to McCormick Road will be closed for barrier wall placement. The overnight work will take place from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday, Dec. 22.
Monday, Dec. 22
- Southbound I-27 traffic will be shifted to the west. This is the first step in shifting traffic over so that work can begin on the proposed northbound lanes between McCormick Road and State Loop (SL) 335.
Tuesday, Dec. 23 – Friday, Dec. 26
- There will be no new lane closures during this time due to the Christmas Holiday. TxDOT offices will be closed from Wednesday, Dec. 24 to Friday, Dec. 26. We will resume normal business hours on Monday, Dec. 29.
Please drive with caution and reduce speed through all work zones. All projects are subject to change due to weather, emergency work, and other unexpected events.
