‘They have killed their Goliath’: Two DWC residents celebrate a milestone

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – Downtown Women’s Center is a nonprofit that is working to support women fighting addiction and experiencing homelessness.

This is done by taking the women through a program that begins the process of recovery so they can continue to live clean and sober lives. Two residents of the Downtown Women’s Center were able to celebrate their graduation from the 60-day Rethinking Alcohol and Drugs (RAD) program.

“So it’s a huge milestone for them. This has been the most wonderful thing for me is to really see these women become beautiful butterflies. I mean, they’re completely out of their addiction. They have killed their Goliath,” said Downtown Women’s Center volunteer Sherry McKean…
