Panhandle area top 10 sports moments of 2025: No. 6 Addyson Bristow makes her mark at UIL State Track Meet

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — It may have been the single most dominant day a Texas Panhandle athlete has ever produced at the UIL State Track Meet when Canyon track sensation Addyson Bristow shattered the 4A state record in the 800 meters. Then proceeded to break the state record in the 1600 meters and capped off her day by anchoring the state-record mile relay.

RESULTS: 2025 UIL State Cross Country Championship

Bristow won the 800 in 2:07.19, the 1600 in 4:48.64, and then took the baton in the 4×400 and blew past the field. Leading Canyon to a record 3:48.89, and 45 team points – finishing second only to Brownwood.

Bristow – already a three-time cross country champion – ran with big leads, big confidence, and zero doubt.
