AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Coffee Memorial Blood Center a nonprofit working to collect blood across the Panhandle for decades.
According to the Executive Director of Coffee Memorial Blood Center, Brad Duggan, the center covers 31 counties and goes through 25,00 blood products in just a year.
“So when you think about that number, you can see why we need so many donors to come in. It takes care of those patients every day, from surgeries, trauma, and cancer patients. They receive lots of platelets just because cancer is so hard on the body and kills those cells in your body,” explained Duggan. “Really helping those cancer patients to come through and to fight that process and to be able to come out on the other end healthy.”…
