Cenikor Foundation adapts after funding cuts, seeks new inpatient facility

AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — The Cenikor Foundation, renowned for its addiction treatment and recovery services, is relocating to a new facility after significant funding cuts prompted the organization to vacate its previous location.

In October, Cenikor closed its inpatient services due to a $1.4 million annual funding cut from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. Despite this setback, the foundation continues to offer outpatient services and other programs.

Julie McCarty, regional director of Cenikor, highlighted the ongoing services: “Our Center Core Crossroads program. It is a partial hospitalization or PHP for anybody, regardless of their ability to pay in that program. They are here Monday through Friday from eight until about 1:00. We do offer transportation services to and from treatment, and we do provide a meal throughout the day.”…
