Amarillo man dead after crash on Osage

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — An Amarillo man is dead following a crash that occurred on S Osage and Malboro Road on Monday at 2:24 p.m.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, 73-year-old Francisco Franco Oaxaca was driving a 2004 Chrysler Town and Country southbound on S Osage when he failed to maintain a single lane and veered into the west ditch. Officials noted that Oaxaca over-corrected the vehicle when steering to the left, causing the vehicle to enter the side skid and travel across the northbound lane into the west ditch, where it rolled over.

DPS stated that Oaxaca was pronounced deceased at the scene from his injuries he sustained in the crash. Officials add that the crash remains under investigation.
