15-year-old girl dead after Thursday morning shooting; Amarillo Police Department investigating

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – The Amarillo Police Department released information on an early Thursday morning shooting that killed a 15-year-old girl, triggering a homicide investigation.

According to the department, officers responded to the 6000 block of Westwind at around 1:10 a.m. on Thursday after a report of a shooting. When they arrived, officers learned a 15-year-old girl “had been shot in a vehicle,” and was hospitalized.
