AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Amarillo Police Department released information regarding a recent job opportunity scam from well-known organizations, including Disney, Louis Vuitton, and Ford.
APD detailed that the job opportunity is in the form of a professional email from what seems to be a legitimate recruiter. The email will also include a link to book a meeting on Calendly, which is a scheduling tool.

Officials said the link will take users to a fake Calendly site owned by the scammers. APD stated that the site requires users to log in using their Google or Facebook accounts to book an interview. The release said that if users enter their login information, they will be giving scammers access to their login credentials, which can be used to hack into personal or work accounts.
Follow these tips to avoid falling victim to this phishing scam:
- Be suspicious if you receive an unexpected invitation for a job opportunity, especially if you never applied for it. Visit an organization’s official careers page if you’re curious about employment opportunities.
- Remember that scammers can use this trick with any meeting app, not just Calendly. Be just as cautious if you receive similar links involving other popular tools, such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
- Be very suspicious of any website that asks you to log in with your Google or Facebook account to make an appointment.
