Sticky Chikky, the Amarillo-born fast-casual favorite known for sticky rice, juicy chicken, and signature hot sauce, is expanding! After quickly establishing a strong following in Amarillo, the brand has confirmed plans to open a new location in Lubbock, Texas.
What Is Sticky Chikky?
Sticky Chikky originated in Amarillo, where it quickly gained a loyal following for its simple but bold menu. The restaurant focuses on flavorful chicken served with sticky rice and house-made sauces, offering a fast-casual option that stands out from traditional fried chicken or wing concepts. You can also pick up a cherry limeade, their signature sweet tea, or a “dirty” soda. And there’s a drive-thru.
Its Amarillo location has built strong word-of-mouth buzz, particularly on social media, helping fuel interest in expansion beyond its original city. Amarillo folks even slept in their cars to celebrate the 1-year anniversary of Sticky Chikky and get a free plate of their chicken and sticky rice.
Sticky Chikky is expanding to a second Amarillo location and a location in Lubbock soon.
New Lubbock Location
According to Lubbock In The Loop, the new Lubbock location will be at 114th & Slide, with a tentative opening date of December 2026. Stickky Chikky is currently taking votes on our preferred signage, which is a fun way to get Lubbock involved (we certainly have our opinions on these things- plus the whole sign ordinance thing).
