Well, I’d say it’s pretty safe to say Amarillo ended 2025 with a bang…and not a good one. Right around Thanksgiving, it seemed like everyone in the city was coming down with some sort of illness. Some with a cold, many with the flu.
Sure, we know it’s that time of year, but this felt a bit different. Whatever was going around seemed super contagious, and it felt as if you as much as looked at someone who had the flu, you caught it too.
Superflu Virus In Amarillo
As everyone was catching this flu, they were noticing it was hanging around longer than usual, and the symptoms were worse than those of a normal flu. Most assumed it was COVID, but it turns out there was a new superflu strain roaming around the country.
Urgent care centers, ER’s, and doctors’ offices were flooded with the influx of patients wondering what was wrong with them. Unfortunately, there was nothing that could be done, and the patients just had to ride it out.
