AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — On New Year’s Day, 15-year-old Brynnlee Hampton’s family received news that she had been shot and killed.
Since then, her family and friends have been left to pick up the pieces, as they try and move forward, honoring her life. Her grandfather Gordon Melton shared that what he’ll remember most about his princess is her smile.

“She had the most infectious smile, the greatest personality,” Gordon Melton, Brynnlee’s grandfather, said. “She loved everybody. She wasn’t afraid to be friends with anybody. She loved her family. She loved her brothers, and really her youngest brother, who clung to her like he couldn’t get off. But she loved all children most of all; she loved God.”
Melton shared that Brynnlee read her bible often, sending pictures of her favorite scriptures to her Mimi. Because of Brynnlee’s faith, Melton shared that they have peace in knowing where she is. After her funeral on Tuesday, Brynnlee and her family traveled to Paducah for her burial…
