Potter County Sheriff Brian Thomas is reporting that several community members reported receiving a call Wednesday from someone claiming to be Lt. Langwell or Lt. Brown with the Sheriff’s Office, demanding payment of an outstanding warrant. While Lt. Langwell and Lt. Brown are actual employees of the Sheriff’s Office, they will NEVER request money over the phone. One of the numbers being used is 806-363-9919. Sheriff Thomas reminds you to remain alert to this ongoing scam.
