Storybridge Is Betting on Amarillo Again. The Goal: 18,000 Books

Amarillo is full of some pretty incredible nonprofit agencies. We know, because we work with over 20 of them every December for Help 4 The Holidays. We’re just a month removed from the event, and our hearts are still full knowing so many of them helped members of the Amarillo community with what you donated.

Now, we enter a new year, and those nonprofits will keep things moving along to help those in the community do all sorts of different things. One nonprofit needs our help now, and it’s all about the kids.

Storybridge Kicks Off Annual Dream & Donate Drive

As they say, the children are our future, and that’s a very true statement. As they grow and learn, they become the next wave of future leaders and professionals who shape our world and economy. It all starts at home, though, and one of the most important things they can do is read.

Every year, Storybridge holds its ‘Dream & Donate’ drive, and this year, they come in with a lofty goal of collecting 18,000 new or gently used books. It seems like a ton, and it is, but when you realize last year they brought in over 18,400 books, you realize they’re just trying to match what they did last year.

Why Is This Event So Important

One of the goals of Storybridge is to make sure that all kids in the panhandle have at least 20 books at home from birth to 5th grade. By starting them so early, it helps ensure they’re able to read as they enter kindergarten, setting them up for success…
