Panhandle PBS general manager named new executive director of Texas Tech Public Media

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – Texas Tech University announced it has appointed Julie Grimes as the new executive director of Texas Tech Public Media, effective Feb. 1. Grimes has previously served as general manager for Panhandle PBS in Amarillo since March 2023.

TTU officials said Grimes is set to provide “strategic and operational leadership for all TTPM stations and services, including public television and radio in Lubbock, El Paso, San Angelo and other regions served by the university’s public-media network.”

As noted by TTU, TTPM holds the licenses for the region’s PBS and NPR members stations, including KTTZ-TV and KTTZ-FM in Lubbock, public-media services in El Paso and radio operations in San Angelo.
