The National Weather Service in Amarillo has issued watches for extreme cold and possible heavy snowfall in the Texas Panhandle area, anticipated to impact the region starting Friday through the weekend.
Due to Winter Storm Fern and out of an abundance of caution, the following businesses and institutions have issued closings, early releases or delays:
Government offices
The City of Canyon’s non-emergent services and facilities will be closed on Friday, Jan. 23, including City Hall, the Canyon Economic Development Corporation, Canyon Main Street offices and the Canyon Area Library. The library will also be closed all day Saturday, Jan. 24.
