Hartman Set To Retire From City Friday

Assistant City Manager Floyd Hartman will be hanging up his spurs so-to-speak this Friday. Hartman has been with the City for nearly three decades.

A one-time rancher, Hartman says when cattle prices dropped back then, he knew it was time for a change, which he found while leaving the bank. “I had everything settled and had just walked out of the bank when I looked across the street and saw an opportunity at city hall. I went right over and applied for a job. It was just like that.”

Over the next 30 years, Hartman would hold a number of positions and titles. Friday, he will retire as Special Advisor to the Water and Sewer Utilities team – departments where he spent the majority of his career overseeing the city’s water supply…
