AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — Hundreds of people packed the Amarillo Civic Center as 211 of the Texas Panhandle connected residents with help paying electric and gas bills, along with other basic needs.
Amarillo Mayor Cole Stanley proclaimed Feb. 11 as National 211 Day in Amarillo. In celebration, more than 80 local vendors filled the Civic Center for the event, which included representatives from Xcel and Atmos assisting people seeking utility help.
