Amarillo City Council considering $30.3M in Certificates of Obligation for street repairs

AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — The Amarillo City Council made news at Tuesday’s meeting for something it did not do.

One of the items on the agenda (Item 7.3. Consideration of Ordinance No. 8236) was to issue Certificates of Obligation in the amount of $30,310,000 for a variety of street resurfacing, reconstruction and construction projects.

But before the public comment portion at the beginning of the meeting, Mayor Cole Stanley announced the item had been withdrawn and tabled…
