AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Amarillo Police Department reported that three people who were connected with the shooting death of Everardo Guadalupe Leal and a second victim in 2024 have been sentenced.
According to APD, at around 11 p.m. on Jan. 24, officers responded to a reported shooting at a house in the 800 block of North Highland. APD said on arrival, officers located Everardo Guadalupe Leal, 23, suffering from a gunshot wound. Officials said Leal was later pronounced dead by Amarillo Medical Services after APD performed lifesaving measures.
The APD release stated that shortly after, officers were dispatched to a second shooting in the 800 block of North Apache. At the second location, another adult male was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. APD said he was transported to a local hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition…
