TxDOT Amarillo seeks community feedback on regional bicycle plan with survey, interactive map

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – The Texas Department of Transportation Amarillo District asked community members to provide feedback on plans to improve access for bicycles in the Amarillo area, during an upcoming survey and public comment period.

According to TxDOT, a pre-recorded video presentation about the proposed Amarillo District Bicycle Plan will be available online here from Feb. 17 at 5 p.m. through March 17 at 11:59 p.m. An interactive web map and a survey will be available to gather input on existing bicycling conditions and priorities for improving safety, comfort and connectivity.

The proposed plan and feedback window is meant to help TxDOT identify gaps and prioritize locations where bikeway improvements could provide the greatest benefit, according to TxDOT. The virtual presentation is aimed at assisting TxDOT in effectively planning for the future and providing a consistent framework for understanding bicycling conditions and needs in Texas.
