Panhandle Community Services Family Services Director runs for state board

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Panhandle Community Services Family Services Director, Audra Rea, is running for the Texas Balance of State Continuum of Care Board of Directors.

According to officials with PCS, the CoC is responsible for coordinating homeless response systems across a defined region, including planning, system evaluation, performance monitoring, HMIS oversight, coordinated entry, and the establishment of written standards for housing and services. Officials addedthat CoC also facilitates access to federal funding for rapid rehousing, permanent supportive housing, and prevention programs.

The CoC Board election is open from Feb. 9 through Feb. 22 and is open to anyone who lives or works in one of the 214 counties in the TX BoS CoC regions. Those who wish to vote may view a CoC map online and fill out a ballot online.
