The Amarillo Fire Department responded to a structure fire at a single-story commercial building located in the 8000 block of South Soncy on Sunday night at 7:09. Upon arrival, crews encountered fire and heavy smoke coming from the structure. Crews forced entry, deployed multiple handlines, and worked to suppress the fire while protecting structural components of the building. After interior conditions improved, personnel completed overhaul operations and extinguished remaining hot spots. The fire was brought under control at approximately 7:49 PM. No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported as a result of this incident. Estimated damage to the structure and contents has not yet been determined.
