AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – The Amarillo Police Department confirmed it is investigating after a person’s remains were found Monday afternoon in a home in the 1800 block of South Buchanan Street.
According to the department, officers were called to a disturbance just after 3:45 p.m. on Monday and were told of a possible dead person being found in a home in the 1800 block of South Buchanan Street. When officers entered the home, they reported finding the person’s remains.
Amarillo College releases result of independent audit
Investigators from the department said it appeared the person had died approximately three years ago. The remains were recovered and sent to be tested for DNA, but had not been officially identified as of Thursday morning.
