8 arrested on burglary charges at closed frat property in Randall County

Eight people were arrested on burglary charges Friday after some told authorities they had entered what had been a fraternity property after hearing it was closing, and a stolen flag was found in one of the suspect’s pants.

The Randall County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were dispatched at approximately midnight to 24700 Hix Drive in Canyon, after a caller said multiple individuals were inside a building. Upon deputies’ arrival to the scene, eight people were seen walking out of the building.

The caller, who is also the owner of the building, informed deputies that no one was authorized to be inside and pointed out the “No Trespassing” signs posted on the doors. The owner then showed deputies a door on the north side of the property that had been forced open. It had damage to the locking mechanism, indicating it had been forcibly opened to gain access to the building…
