United Supermarkets donates 1,000 pairs of socks to Salvation Army of Amarillo

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — United Supermarkets announced that it will donate 1,000 pairs of socks to the Salvation Army of Amarillo through its Apples & Pears on Mission initiative.

According to the United Supermarkets, the donation is scheduled to take place at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at the United Supermarket location at 3552 S. Soncy Road.

Officials detailed that in the fall and winter months, for each purchase of Rainier Fruit apples and pears, a portion of the proceeds was dedicated to purchasing socks to donate to organizations that support the homeless community.
