Judge Matt Martindale of Randall County Court at Law No. 2 recently made a request to file an application for a $320,000 grant, which would enable his court to help a growing contingency of citizens who struggle with mental health issues.
“Getting this grant is a first step toward operating as a mental court facility,” Martindale said at the Feb. 10 regular meeting of the Randall County Commissioners Court. “Even if the grant is not approved, just getting the designation is giving us the way to go forward. We were turned down in 2023, but we’re in a better place now to ask.”…
